To Create a New Inspection Request Using the Current Location

This procedure details the steps in SmartInspect for creating a new inspection request using the device's current location.
Note: Ensure that SmartInspect is open, and is the selected view. If necessary, see To Switch to SmartInspect from SmartCapture.
  1. If necessary, use a pinch/expand touch gesture to zoom the map out so that the green pin identifying the device's current location is visible
  2. From the SmartInspect Map, tap the green pin
    A label will appear.
  3. Tap the displayed label
    An inspection details window will appear.
  4. In the Building Name field, enter the name of the building
  5. In the Type field, select an inspection type
  6. In the Date field, select a requested completion date
  7. Optional - in the Comments field, enter any additional comments about the inspection request
  8. Tap Submit
A new inspection request has been successfully created using the device's current location. The new inspection will open upon successful creation.
