To Create a New Building Pin Using the Current Location

This procedure details the steps in SmartCapture for creating a new building pin using the device's current location.
Note: Ensure that SmartInspect is open, and is the selected view. If necessary, see To Switch to SmartCapture from SmartInspect.
  1. If necessary, zoom the map out so that the green pin identifying the device's current location is visible
  2. Tap the green pin
    A label with the selected address will appear.
  3. Tap the displayed label
    A building details window will appear.
    Trouble: If a building information plan opens, there is already a plan at this location. Navigate back to the map and long tap on the map to drop a Purple Pin user-defined location pin.
  4. If any of the pop-up's text fields do not auto-populate, enter the necessary information
    Note: The pop-up has five text fields: Building Name, Street Number, Street Name, City Name, and Province. Typically, information will only have to be entered for the Building Name.
  5. Tap Submit
    A new building pin will be created. Building creation takes around 3-5 seconds in good network conditions. SmartCapture provides user feedback during this process.
A building pin has been successfully created at the user's current location. The new building information plan will open upon successful building pin creation.
